Who is the Roving Reiki?
Warm welcomes! The Roving Reiki, LLC was created and founded by Catherine ("Libby") Turner-Hoffman. Libby is a Reiki Master in both the Usui Reiki Ryoho and Crystal Reiki traditions, a Level III Sound Healer, with advanced training in Crystal Sound Bowls, Tibetan Sound Bowls and Tuning Forks.
Her former formal education includes an MA in art history (USF) and a BA in English literature and theatre (Washington College). She has also take graduate level theology coursework and practical nursing courses.
She is a mother, disability advocate, and current homeschool educator. She has a love for all creatures from beetles to people (maybe not ticks and mosquitoes) and can be found outside in nature, likely with a found rock or shell in her pocket. She firmly and solidly believes in the words of Thomas Merton that "There is no way of telling people that they are all walking around shining like the sun."
What is the Roving Reiki, LLC?
The Roving Reiki, LLC was formed after a battle with chronic illness and pain, culminating in narrowly surviving septic shock, and post-ICU syndrome, profoundly diminished Libby's quality of life.
A chance encounter with sound vibrations, that resulted in a profound shift in her pain and mobility, forced her to reconsider modalities she had fervently dismissed as pseudo-science at best, and complete farcical woo-woo at worst.
Always intuitive and a lover of both religion and spirituality, she had always felt that energy-based complementary practices were somewhat predatory and a twisting of true religious beliefs and cultural customs.
Research into the science of sound waves and the use of sound healing throughout various cultures -- as well as her own experience-- made her reconsider her opinions.
And so began her own tentative, then blossoming, journey into sound and energy healing practices.
The Roving Reiki LLC was conceived with the complete conviction that these modalities positively impact and inform lives -- and with the deep understanding and consideration that very often those who most need these energy-based practices are the very same people who are least able to get to a practitioner's office.
And so, the Roving Reiki, LLC "Energy without Barriers" was formed. It is an absolute honor to serve and work with you all.
